What is Reiki?


Reiki is a gentle, energy-based therapy that supports your body’s natural ability to restore balance.
The word Reiki translates to “universal life energy”, the energy that flows through all living things. As a practitioner trained in the traditional Usui method developed by Mikao Usui, I act as a channel for this energy, allowing it to flow to where it is most needed.
Rather than “doing” anything to you, Reiki works with your body, supporting it to rebalance in its own way and at its own pace. While Reiki works with energy, many clients simply experience it as a deeply calming and restorative treatment.


What Reiki can support


Reiki is deeply calming and can be particularly helpful if you’re experiencing:
stress, anxiety or emotional overwhelm
burnout or feeling mentally exhausted
difficulty switching off or sleeping
physical tension linked to stress
a sense of disconnection or low energy
times of change, loss or uncertainty


Many clients come for relaxation—and discover something much deeper: a sense of inner calm, clarity and reconnection.


What a session feels like


Reiki is a very gentle, non-invasive treatment.
You remain fully clothed, lying comfortably, while I place my hands either lightly on or just above your body.
Clients often describe:
a deep sense of relaxation
warmth or gentle sensations
a quieting of the mind
feeling lighter or more balanced afterwards
For some, it simply feels like the first time they’ve truly relaxed in a long time.


More than relaxation


While Reiki is deeply relaxing, it can also support emotional release and nervous system regulation.
In today’s fast-paced world, many of us live in a constant state of “doing” and stress. Reiki offers a space to slow down helping your body shift into a state where real rest, repair and emotional processing can begin.


My approach


Reiki has been part of my journey since 2013, and it continues to be at the heart of how I support my clients. What makes my approach different is how I integrate Reiki with counselling, hypnotherapy and EFT. This allows us to work not only with your energy, but also with your thoughts, emotions and deeper patterns creating a more holistic and personalised experience.
For some clients, Reiki is a standalone treatment, for others, it becomes part of a wider journey of change and self-understanding.
A safe and supportive space. I am always mindful to practise Reiki in a grounded and ethical way.
Reiki is a complementary therapy and does not replace medical treatment but it can work beautifully alongside it, supporting your overall wellbeing.
